My wife and i stopped at this hotel from the 27th July for 11 nights and found the hotel lovely .The food was out of this world it must be said with a different fish being freshly fried every night and the choice of food at each meal time was just amazing with roast beef ,duck, fresh seafood and giant prawns . The rooms were slightly dated but still very good and the hotel overall deserves it's four star status . On the negative points , there is a fight over the sunbeds everyday , don't expect to get one after 9am , and the premium ones right beside the pool are claimed with a towel when people go to bed at 1:30am or around 5am . The area around entry into kiddies pool is a dangerous slip area, i saw at least 6 kids slip over here so be aware and there is slope going up up to the pool bar area that is so so steep that it's breathtaking that some builders built it and actually got paid for it, i saw at least 5 people slip over on it , do not go up this slope if you stay here it isn't worth risking a broken leg , go up the steps the other side . I read a few other reviews on here about problems getting a drink at night , but we did not find this a issue , Overall however you have made the right decision if you have booked this hotel

We stayed here for 2 weeks all inclusive. Hotel is clean, staff are friendly, food is lovely. Im not a moaning person/family and eveyrone has their own opinions and you wont be able to please everyone all the time. Yes you have to be up at a ridiculous time to get a sunbed, but we got used to it (well my hisband did :) ) The restaurant was clean and had a variety of foods, some cooked fresh everynight. Yes we did see 1 cockroach in the restaurant but hey ur abroad and it was only 1. The staff were always friendly and polite. The room was cleaned everyday to a good standard. Our hairdryer broke one day and as soon as i rang recpetion the handyman came and fitted another 1 there and then and very quickly. The one pet hate of mine was the night entertainment, the first week or so we were there is was fantastic we loved it, but then the singer who was there to entertain you before the big act needs to learn to sing songs with the correct lyrics and not make them up as he goes along, this i found annoying but the majority of people seemed to enjoy it so each to their own. I couldn't say i wouldnt stay here again but i just wouldn't pay the amount i did.

Fantastic, relaxing stay

We stayed in the Bitacora from 31st August 2011 for one week. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the food was outstanding, and what we saw of the lunch and dinner food looked stunning and everyone kept commenting on how fantastic it was. Going on the breakfasts it would have been fab. However, my boyfriend and I enjoy experiencing local restaurants when we go away and this is always the case no matter where we travel. The pool areas were spotless and there was always sunbeds available at all times of the day. The room which was a standard double room with a view of the hotel next door was absolutely wonderful, spacious and very clean with the cleaners coming round every day. The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially those who worked on reception. We would most certainly stay at this hotel again. I can not comment on the spa as we din't use it and I can't comment on the night time entertainment as we were always out and about with not being all inclusive. I found the restaurants in the area to be great and the food to be delicisous especially as I am a fussy eater being a vegetarian but we always found somewhere that my meat eating boyfriend could have a good steak and myself a veggie option.
